Legend Larry's was founded by Larry Schaefer in Sheboygan, WI in 2001. In the beginning Legend Larry's was a corner bar that served pub food at 733 Pennsylvania avenue. Still, it was different than a lot of other bars and their food. Larry always loved good wings and since, at that time, the popularity of the foodstuff was nowhere near where it is today, there was not a place in Sheboygan to get good wings. So that was his mission. He decided to make wings like Sheboygan had never experienced. It just so happens, that in that process, he created sauces like the world has never experienced.
In the first 5 years of business and having people, not only locally, but nationally and internationally literally stunned by his product, his wife, Tammy, pushed him to go to The National Buffalo Wing Festival, in Buffalo, New York. The first year Legend Larry's visited the original home of hot wings they won two first places. They won first place in the traditional medium and traditional hot categories. They've been going back ever since and have won more awards than any other restaurant in the history of the National Buffalo Wing Festival.
Meanwhile, they opened a second location in Manitowoc, WI and started offering their product to other bar and restaurant owners. This has now grown to 12 places you can enjoy Legend Larry's amazing wings and many others that proudly use his sauces.
Legend Larry's is family owned and operated. That is not just a nice slogan we've heard a few times before, it is true. Larry is the founder, the boss, and the visionary for Legend Larry's. His wife, Tammy, has a great history in business and is the voice of reason, and extremely organized. She keeps the rest of us dreamers in line and helps us make our dreams become a reality; well, the Legend Larry's related dreams. Their oldest child, Amber, helps part time with office duties, when she can squeeze in some time from her daughter, Larry's granddaughter, Estella. Mike, Larry's son-in-law and Estella's proud father, is our sales guy. Mike is the guy to talk to if you want your bar or restaurant to start using some amazing sauces! Finally, there is me, Dane, Larry's son. I am the web guy, and marketeer. I help Mike, and our existing locations sell product with my awesome posters, banners, billboards, etc. We all sit in an office together and see each other nearly daily. Like I said, it's not just some nice slogan, Legend Larry is a family man and his business model definitely shows it.
